Second, last night we watched what is likely an old episode of QI and they were discussing the right order of loading up a scone: Which goes first, jam or clotted cream? That shot made me smile. Thank you Pamela. Those images need explaining 🙂 The first cake is a Chocolate Guinness Cake I made. The contents of that Guinness tin were in the cake. Funny thing is I like Guinness but the cake didn’t do it for me. The scone image and how you load the cream and jam is a regional issue here in the UK. Scones are normally served with a cup of tea as a ‘cream tea’. In the county of Devon clotted cream goes on the bottom, then the jam. In Cornwall the jam goes on the bottom and the cream on top. So my image is a Cornish Cream Tea. I do make scones a lot but that image was taken to sell as stock. I recreated it, with the clotted cream on the bottom, so that I had a Devon Cream Tea to sell as well. TBH, cream or jam first, for me it makes no difference at all but others would disagree 🙂
